The Guachaca River winding through the jungle toward the Sierra

Salvia Madre sits where the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta meets the Caribbean: a 12-hectare regenerative farm, home to a boutique hotel that invites you to stay, live inside nature and get to know this land.

The river, the soil, the food and the people set the rhythm of each day. A way of living in touch with what is real, with where things come from, and with the nature all around us.

Make Salvia your home

Our rooms open onto gardens, trees and paths that lead down to the river. Cabins built with natural architecture and contemporary spaces share the land at Salvia, each with its own way of meeting the landscape.

Villas, lofts, garden balconies and spaces for couples or families. Places to stay, slow down and make Salvia your home for a few days.

03 · Instinto Bistró

Eating here is another way of getting to know the place.

Banana pancake with a carrot star, and stuffed papaya

In the heart of Salvia, surrounded by jungle, Instinto is our tropical kitchen. A table where our own harvest meets what local farmers and growers bring, and where the flavours of this land come together.

On the land, we keep learning. We follow the moon and the timing of each crop, bringing ancestral and campesino knowledge together with permaculture. Planting, harvesting and cooking are one relationship.

Carrot juice with dried lime

We cook well and without hurry. A varied menu for different tastes and ways of eating, with vegetarian and vegan options and a mindful eye on every ingredient we choose.

We grow, cook and serve what we love to eat. From the land to the plate.

04 · Wellness & Experiences

Come back to your body. Then go explore.

Come back to your body.

At Salvia, wellbeing grows out of simple things: water, plants, movement, fire and rest. Different ways to pause, listen to ourselves and repair.

Mukuna gathers the wisdom of plants into massages, baths and restorative therapies. AURA makes room for movement, practice and gathering; as night falls, it also invites you to sit close to the fire and share.

Between the Sierra and the Caribbean.

From Salvia, the landscape opens towards the Sierra and the Caribbean. Tayrona National Park, the Guachaca River, waterfalls, beaches, farms and communities all invite you to head out, wander and discover.

Our experiences grow out of that closeness, and out of the relationships we have built with the people who live here.

Salvia Madre hosts retreats, groups and gatherings where lodging, food, wellness and experiences come together in a single proposal.

AURA is a versatile space for yoga, movement, workshops and gatherings, supported by Instinto Bistró and everything Salvia and its surroundings have to offer.

We work alongside facilitators, agencies and organisers to design each stay around what the group needs.

06 · Alegría · The Children’s House

A place to be a child. And to keep on playing.

Next to Instinto, among the gardens, Alegría is our Children’s House: a space of bamboo and earth for playing, climbing, imagining and meeting others.

Close by, the football pitch and the beach volleyball court make room for movement, matches and games shared between kids and grown-ups.

07 · Community · Fundación Costeño Social

Where it all began.

Before the hotel and the bistro, there was the community. Fundación Costeño Social was born in 2017 on the beach at Guachaca, and we have been part of its path from the very beginning. It is the root of everything Salvia is today.

We support learning with children and young people through surfing, English, art, yoga and environmental education. Here you learn with your body, your creativity and through play, in a space where everyone feels heard and discovers what they are good at.

Nine years on, the seeds are blooming. Young people from Guachaca now work, study and live in different parts of the world, carrying with them the confidence and the tools they built here. They are the flowers of what was sown.

Families who stay with us are invited to take part. Traveling children share activities with the kids from the community, and the friendships they make are remembered long after the trip.

This work is sustained by our sponsors, people who walk alongside each child and young person and make it possible for them to keep going. Becoming a sponsor is a way of planting something in this land.

Our center is just 600 meters from Salvia, on the same San Martín road, “El Encanto”. Our doors are open if you’d like to visit.

Caring for the land and caring for its people is one and the same gesture. Every time someone stays at Salvia, that gesture grows a little bigger.
